Casual Dining in Las Vegas

Glittering lights, fabulous shows and exclusive nightclubs aren’t the only thing Las Vegas, NV has to offer; this town also has great restaurants and delicious dishes that make it hard to pass up. While spending my past weekend in Vegas with friends we took some time to find hidden gems and great restaurants.

Our first dinning experience was on the Las Vegas strip in front of Caesar’s palace. If you haven’t visited Serendipity 3, its’ extensive menu never disappoints. A few of my favorite entrees at this restaurant include the Nachos, Don’t Be Afraid of My Alfredo Pasta, and the Mac and Cheese (with truffles).  My favorite desserts include their famous Frozen Hot Chocolate and the Grasshopper Marshmallow Mint Explosion, Ice Cream Sunday. In addition if you are feeling opulent, you have the opportunity to purchase their $1,000 Ice Cream Sunday that is topped with real gold!

The following day, we stopped at Carnegie Deli at the Mirage Hotel and Casino. This place is famous for, but not limited to its enormous pastrami sandwiches. So be sure to show up with a big appetitive or plan to share. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich with lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese and French fries. When it arrived it was definitely impressive and somewhat intimidating due to massive size! It was cold and fresh which was perfect after a long day of walking around in record high temperatures.
After a late night of dancing we decided to satisfy our late night cravings and headed over to the “secret” pizza place on the third floor in the Cosmopolitan Hotel. Known as the “Hidden,” or “Secret Pizza” place, it was not too hard to find due to its substantial line emerging from a long hallway. Although the wait was long, the food was worth it! We ordered a few slices of white, vegetarian and pepperoni pizza, which proved to be the perfect 3am snack.

Finally Sunday morning is always the most difficult day to wake up after lack of sleep and a long weekend. After packing and preparing to depart sometimes its difficult to decide what you are really craving. Therefore we decided to walk over to Cravings Buffet at the Mirage. This place is like a food Mecca and is divided up by cultures! Although I have become less enthusiastic for Vegas buffets, this particular one has never let me down.

Although I am aware there are many more incredible restaurants in the City of Sin, these are just a few places I visited this past weekend. So on your next trip to Las Vegas hopefully this can help so you can find a bite to eat, day or night!
